Questions & Answers
Do we have to agree on everything to start?
No. Many people begin mediation with real uncertainty. The process helps you clarify priorities and explore workable options.
Will you take sides?
No. Mediation is designed to be neutral and agreement-focused. The Oregon Judicial Department describes mediators as neutral and notes that mediators do not take sides.
Is mediation confidential?
Often, yes — with some exceptions depending on context. We’ll explain how confidentiality applies to your matter at the start.
Do you provide legal advice?
Mediation is different from representation. The Oregon Judicial Department’s mediation overview states the mediator does not give legal advice.
If you need legal advice, we encourage you to consult an attorney.
Do you offer virtual mediation?
Yes — sessions can be held virtually or in person.
